Membership Secretary - Job Description:

The Membership Secretary is an elected member of the Committee.

The Membership Secretary is Responsible to:
Directly responsible to the Committee in accordance with the Constitution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend General Meetings.
  • Maintain and accurate and up-to-date membership list.
  • Produce back-up copies of Membership list after each update.
  • Deposit received funds into Club’s Account.
  • Notify Treasurer of deposits as they occur and provide break-down of amounts.
  • (e.g., subscriptions, badges, bus trip money, etc).
  • Provide up to date financial member numbers to the Committee as required.
  • Clear PO Box at regular intervals and distribute incoming mail as necessary.
  • Prepare and print labels of financial members for each edition of Capital Wanderer.
  • Respond to enquiries from members - re their financial status.

Requirements, Knowledge & Skills:

  • Have a reasonable level of competence to provide efficient management of the membership list.
  • Provide support to the Committee as necessary.
  • Be well organised.
  • Work with the Committee and through it the Club for efficient management.

Estimated time commitment:
Approximately 4 to 6 hours per week
